On Wednesday, 21 January, the initial online coordination meeting of the new Erasmus+ project Other Spaces: Encounters between Artists, Students and Teachers for Sustainable Futures took place.
Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme (Ref. 2025-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000356883) and coordinated by Gemma París Romia and Sílvia Blanch Gelabert, the project promotes innovative and inclusive teacher education through arts-based co-teaching models with artists-in-residence.
Other Spaces will create a transnational network of educators, cultural institutions, artists and researchers to co-design intercultural learning experiences focused on STEAM, active methodologies and vulnerable educational contexts. Key actions include university artist-in-residence programmes, hands-on arts-based learning with more than 200 students, co-creation labs, interdisciplinary courses, digital resources and school visits.
The project will also develop an open-access digital platform, best-practice resources and guidelines for interdisciplinary teaching, strengthening collaboration between universities, cultural institutions and communities.
The meeting established the main working guidelines, timeline and management procedures, with partners from UAB, Tàpies Museum, LaSala, University of Iceland and West University of Timișoara.
